Check your starting point

This page describes the earlier fourteen-week layout and is being rewritten; where it differs, the syllabus applies.

These twenty course-authored questions cover Python, Git, testing and HTTP. Questions, answers and explanations are public student assets. This diagnostic is practice feedback, not a quiz bank, admission decision or official course grade. It has no pass threshold. Try it without AI first so the result helps you choose what to review; checking the public answers afterward is encouraged. No personal information is needed.

Use the Week 0 launcher setup. Copy this directory's public files into a separate workspace. In that sandbox, python run.py prints questions; python run.py --show-answers also explains the answers. Record your choices in a JSON object such as {"P1": "C", "G1": "C"}. Omit unanswered questions.

Run python run.py --answers answers.json through the same launcher to receive a deterministic JSON result. Incorrect and omitted answers receive no correct-answer point; each question counts once. Unknown IDs, duplicate IDs and values outside A-D fail input validation. The script reads data and never executes submitted code. Answers shipped with the questions make this unsuitable for summative grading.

Read the explanation for each missed question. Explain one correction in your own words and try that concept on a small example through the launcher. Bring the topic and safe error category to course support if still stuck. This fits within the Week 0 time budget; it does not create another scored submission or a requirement to export a conversation.
